I was born in Longview, Texas and attended a Baptist Church until we moved to Birmingham, Alabama when I was seven years old. We lived there for three years. We returned to Texas and lived in several cities before settling in Houston in 1960.
I graduated from San Jacinto High School, attended South Texas Junior College and the University of Houston where I majored in English and minored in Psychology.

My growth in knowing the Lord started after I converted to Catholicism at the age of 15. Peace and joy that I had never known and would never forget filled my life. Prayer became a big part of my life and that anchored me for the later trials I would experience.
Finally, in 1989, after "doing my own thing," I found myself back in church with a great hunger for God and the teachings that I was receiving. I began to study the Bible and started learning about the spiritual gifts that God has given to each of us. I learned that my desire to pray and seek the Lord with great intensity was the gift of Intercession. Through the past years my service to the Lord as a prayer Team Leader has been very rewarding.
I started coming to Community Gospel Church in April of 2000 and joined the Prayer Team and later moved into the Prayer Team Leadership. I am so thankful that God has called me to this ministry as it has been such a joy to witness answered prayers and see God working in such a powerful way.
